Rohingya Canadian Community (RCC) of British Columbia is a non-profit organization, officially registered and constituted in the middle of 2024 in Surrey. The organization has since grown to include over one hundred fifty families, making it one of the largest Rohingya communities on the west coast of Canada.
RCC Skill Centre, which is operated by Rohingya Canadian Community, is currently offering adult English courses at two different locations. The main goal of this project is to improve the life skills of the Rohingya community. The door of RCC Skill Centre is always open for those people who are willing to enhance their education level. The people who join this program will have the opportunity to enhance their English skills in Canadian society.
The "Annual Sports Picnic" of Rohingya Canadian Community holds to provide children with opportunities to engage in physical activities and play various games. It is a wonderful activities for children with lots of exciting games to make new friends. Importantly, the event provides opportunities for all members of RCC to come together to have fun and relax from their stress and loneliness.
Social well-being is promoted by connecting members with job opportunities, volunteer work, and resume building networks.
This includes interpretation services, looking for affordable housing and much more that will enable them to be an integral part of Canadian society.
Rohingya Canadian Community (RCC) motivates the subsequent generations of Rohingya to take part in social activities. Rohingya youth are at a great risk of being marginalized. The program uses local sports facilities in Surrey to establish a feeling of belonging among youth, develop their leadership skills, teamwork and direct vulnerable young people to positive activities.
Convening, religious event, education and entertainment party are preserving Rohingya’s cultural heritage while promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Volunteer:- Offer Volunteer Facility, Skills in Translation, Freelance Interpreters, Mentorship, or Event Coordination. Donate:- Financial contributions to fund programs.
Collaborate:- Organizations can partner with RCC for refugee support initiatives.
Making people aware of the situation regarding the Rohingya genocide and displacement and advocating for their rights around the world.
The Rohingya are a stateless and persecuted minority from Myanmar with many arriving in Canada as refugees. RCC plays a crucial role in easing their transition by providing holistic support.
